How to create a useful Twitch stream recap

A Twitch chat recap summarizes the conversation captured during an analysis session. It helps a creator or teammate understand the topics, reactions, and questions that appeared without reading every message. It is a record of chat activity, not a transcript or video summary of the entire broadcast.

ChatMood generates shareable stream recap pages from collected session data. Their usefulness depends on when collection started, how much chat was available, and which moments were captured. An unobserved part of the stream should not be described as if it had been analyzed.

Sign in, select a live Twitch channel, and open its analysis dashboard while the relevant segment is happening. Allow analyses to accumulate before generating a recap from the session. A very short or quiet capture may not provide enough evidence for a detailed summary.

Record the purpose of the review separately: questions to answer next time, reactions to a new format, or a sponsored segment. This makes it easier to select useful findings from the generated recap instead of treating every topic as equally important.

Review the AI summary against the topics, sentiment breakdown, and notable messages. Check whether quoted comments support the conclusion. Sarcasm and emotes can change the meaning of a sentence, and a vocal group may not represent the wider audience.

A shared recap link opens a public page. Review its contents and quoted messages before distributing it. Use the recap as supporting context, and explain the captured time window when presenting it to someone who did not watch the stream.

Pick one or two observations to act on: clarify a recurring question, revisit a popular topic, or review the video around an unusual reaction. A chat spike can suggest where to look for a clip, but the recap does not automatically prove that a highlight occurred on video.

The Free plan retains up to three recaps, Starter up to fifty, and Business has no plan cap on recaps. On Free, older recaps may be removed to make room. Check current pricing and retain needed reports before relying on a link as a permanent archive.
